Kildrummy Vintage Rally 2009: 14 June 2009

The date for the 2009 KVVVC Kildrummy Vintage Rally is now confirmed as Sunday 14th June 2009, and the event will again be held at the Deeside Activity Centre, Dess, by Aboyne.

Entry Forms and details of the 2009 event will be available to download in early Spring 2009. If you would like to be sent details of the event nearer the time, please write to info@kildrummy-vintage-rally.org.uk with your details and we will keep you informed.

Drive-It Day 2009

DRIVE IT DAY® is the historic vehicle movement's annual showcase event. It happens each year on the Sunday nearest 23 April, the anniversary of the start of the 1,000 miles trial of 1900.

In 2008, that was 20 April and photographs of the happenings all over the United Kingdom can be seen here. Locally, last year's event in the company of members of other local clubs (who had organised the outing) was generally considered “a jolly good show”. The resulting display of interesting vehicles in the Square at Ballater on Royal Deeside was quite impressive.

Drive It Day in 2009 will be on Sunday, 26 April and once again we will be encouraging members to get their vehicles out on the road in the company of fellow enthusiasts. As yet we are unable to declare a specific plan but would ask you to watch this site for details in early 2009 as they become available.

National Drive-it Day - 20 April 2008

Please remember that Sunday April 20th is National ‘Drive-it-day' when all old-car enthusiasts are encouraged to get their classic and vintage motors out on the road so that a general impact is made on the public’s awareness of the old car movement, while giving others pleasure with the sight of these older motors.

The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs maintains a register of Drive-it events around the country (link opens in a new window). 

In Aberdeen there will be an informal run to Ballater starting from the Beach Boulevard at 10.30am, organised by the Garioch Club. We understand that all are welcome if they come with a suitable age of transport.
